Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is employed to prevent the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one email address, but to appear as being sent from another, ordinarily with the idea to scam the recipient for some reason. If SPF protection is activated for a domain, a unique record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers globally have it. The record includes all of the email servers that are allowed to send valid messages from an e-mail address within the domain. When a message is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters checks the SPF record and if the sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the target receiver. If, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the given domain, the e-mail message won't be sent and it'll be removed. In the event that you employ this solution, it will stop third parties from sending spam that seem to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Shared Hosting

The SPF protection feature is provided as standard with each and every shared hosting plan that we offer and you can use it without any difficulty so that you can secure the e-mails for any domain hosted within your account. The service is controlled from the Emails section of the cutting-edge, yet intuitive Hepsia Control Panel. What is needed to enable the protection is to type the IP address of the e-mail server in addition to its hostname - mail.server.com, for example. The moment the protection is activated, only this server will be able to send emails from e-mails created under the domain name that you've picked. Your emails can be managed by another supplier, but if we manage them along with your website, you may also enable an option for your messages to be sent only if the domain uses our MX records. This option will provide you with superior security as only our server will be authorized to send out e-mails from your mailboxes and you will have improved control. When you have any questions or in case you experience any issues with this service, you can contact our tech support team anytime and they will give you a hand right away.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, that is included with all our semi-dedicated hosting, offers you an exceptionally user-friendly interface to enable the SPF security service for any domain that you host within your new account. A couple of clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia are enough for that and you will only have to enter the hostname and the IP address of the mail server which will be allowed to send messages from your emails. When the emails are taken care of on our end and not by another provider, you can boost the security level even further and enable an option for your outgoing emails to be sent only if your domains feature our MX records. This option will provide you with better control and it will eliminate any chance of somebody faking your emails with the purpose of spamming and / or scamming people. It's not applicable in case just your web site is hosted on our state-of-the-art cloud hosting platform, while your e-mails are managed by some other provider. If you are not sure what features to select, our technical support team will help you 24/7.
